Our firm was founded on the conviction that capital, thoughtfully deployed, is the most powerful instrument of lasting enterprise. We do not manage assets. We steward institutions.

For three generations, AURELIAN has served a select roster of families, foundations, and institutions whose ambitions extend beyond the fiscal quarter. Our mandate is not growth for its own sake, but the preservation and cultivation of legacy — the careful architecture of wealth that outlives its architects.

In an age of velocity, we choose deliberation. In a culture of transaction, we build relationship. Every engagement begins not with a pitch, but with a question: What are we building that will matter in fifty years?

On stewardship — The term derives from Old English stigweard, "keeper of the hall." We take the etymology seriously.

A Princely Portfolio

Mandate: restructure and modernise the investment holdings of a European princely family — spanning real estate, fine art, timber, and direct private equity — across three generations of beneficiaries.

Our team designed a governance framework that balanced income distribution with capital appreciation, divested non-core assets representing 40% of the portfolio, and established a single-family office with independent investment committee.

Outcome: 2.4× net asset growth over eight years, with a 97% capital preservation rate through two market cycles.

Geneva — Portfolio HQ — Mandate since 2018

Industrial Renaissance

Mandate: advise the controlling family of a century-old Midlands manufacturing group on a strategic sale process that would preserve the company's identity while maximising shareholder value.

We structured a two-track process — trade sale to a strategic buyer and a minority recapitalisation with a long-only infrastructure fund — running both paths in parallel to maintain optionality.

Outcome: full exit at 9.8× EBITDA to a German industrial conglomerate, with all 1,200 employees retained and a £50M foundation endowment established from proceeds.

Endowment Transformation

Mandate: redesign the investment programme of a £2.3B university endowment constrained by outdated asset allocation and governance bottlenecks that had produced a decade of below-median returns.

We rebuilt the investment committee, introduced a factor-based allocation framework, shifted 35% of assets into alternative strategies, and implemented a mission-aligned investing overlay.

Outcome: top-quartile performance over a five-year horizon, with annualised return improvement of 340 basis points net of fees, and a 15% allocation to impact-oriented strategies.
